In my naming of the moons, Av is the moon of Endings and Beginnings. Our soul trait this month is Ometz Lev (אמץ לב) Courage, which is needed to deal with all the bad and good that has made us who we are as a people. And that, to me, is what the holidays of Tisha B’Av and Tu B’Av are all about.
