Close your eyes...and breathe out
Imagine you are standing and around you on on the ground, is a glowing ring. Look to your right you will find three small orbs, also within the larger ring with you. Looking to your left you will find three more small orbs, also within the larger ring with you. Without touching them yet, take a moment notice their color, texture, and any other details.
Each of these is one of the gifts of the Shabbat Amidah. On your right are the gifts of ancestral connection, the circle of life & death, and holiness. On your left are the gifts of prayer, gratitude and peace. The ring that surrounds you is Shabbat.
Each of these gifts have the power to restore your soul to its balance --helping bring you to your truest self: ancestral connection, circle of life & death, holiness, prayer, gratitude, peace and the sacred container of Shabbat.
These are gifts that you carry with you always and that you can draw on in whichever way serves you best.
Reach down and scoop up the Divine gifts of ancestral connection, the circle of life, and holiness. Slide them over your right arm and watch them transform into cuffs, bracelets, or even beautiful tattoo like patterns. Watch them glow as you invoke each one: ancestral connection, the circle of life, and holiness.
Reach down and scoop up the Divine gifts of prayer, gratitude, and peace.
Slide them over your left arm and watch them transform into cuffs, bracelets, or even beautiful tattoo like patterns. Watch them glow as you invoke each one: prayer, gratitude, and peace.
Now reach down for the last large ring that surrounds you — as you do notice any change in the rings on your arms.
Draw the energy of that ring up your body, connecting with the rings you now wear on your arms, and as you reach your arms over your head say - may I be enveloped, uplifted, and embraced in the peace of Shabbat so I may not accidentally, unknowingly, unintentionally, or unjustly harm myself.
Reach down to the ring of Shabbat and again draw the energy of that ring up your body, connecting with the rings you now wear on your arms, and as you reach your arms over your head say - may I be enveloped, uplifted, and embraced in the peace of Shabbat so I may not accidentally, unknowingly, unintentionally, or unjustly harm others.
One last time reach down to the ring of Shabbat and again draw the energy of that ring up your body, connecting with the rings you wear on your arms, and as you reach your arms over your head say - may I be enveloped, uplifted, and embraced in the peace of Shabbat so I may not accidentally, unknowingly, unintentionally, or unjustly be harmed by others.
Feel yourself enveloped, uplifted, and embraced by the power of Shabbat. Let it restore the outer layers of your spirit. Let it comfort, heal, and all you to rest -- so in the new week you may walk back out into the world ready to begin the work again.
Breathe out.
And open your eyes.
