Adar
Adar 5786 begins at sundown on 02/17/2026, and this month of revealing will apparently be extremely revealing according to astrologists like Chani Nichols.
We enter Adar in an eclipse and a conjunction of two slow moving planets, which is apparently rare and they are coming together the point of the Equinox. And the according to Ms. Nichols, it is an emergence, a new beginning of something that is full of paradox. Appropriate for a month that is simultaneously the midpoint and end of the year, donāt you think?
Now, astrology isnāt one of my strong suits, so I appreciate folks like Chani Nichols and Rob Brezny, who unpack it in ways I understand. What I find fascinating about what they tell us about the stars right now, is how it also maps to where we should be in the generational cycle of Strauss & Howe ā the apex of the Crisis period (finally).

The most important thing to remember in moments of great movement, is that NOTHING IS FIXED. Time may be spiralinear (PDF), but that doesnāt me we return to the same exact moment over and over. Patterns repeat until we break them. Patterns repeat to give us, individually and collectively, a chance to make new choices that foster new outcomes. Just because a moment feels similar, doesnāt mean itās the same. You are not the same as you were yesterday. WE are not the same as WE were 25, 50, or 100 years ago.
Oh and there is a Blood Moon lunar eclipse that will take us into Purim.

Numerous as the Stars Tarot
Iāve been sharing small bits of this new project on Instagram, but I havenāt said a word about it here, and this is a great time to become a paying subscriber ā because Iāll be sharing a LOT more with paying subscribers in the months to come.
Hereās 18% off your first year.
If you need the helpā no questions asked.
If you donāt have the resources to be a paying subscriber at the existing options, message me and weāll work something out.
A year or two ago, someone asked me why I made an oracle deck, not a tarot deck. The answer was simply that I didnāt feel like I had anything to add to multitudes of tarot decks that are already out there. Of course as soon as I say that, I start thinking, and it turns out I have a lot to say.
My current working title is: Numerous as the Stars Tarot
A 78-card Smith-Waite variant that reframes Jewish diaspora as blessing rather than exile, with the thesis āWe are numerous as starsāwherever we can see the stars, we are home.ā If you have followed my work for any length of time, you know I am a diasporist. I think itās a feature, not a flaw.
A major inspiration for this my take on the tarot is the work of historian Hasia R. Diner, and her book, Roads Taken as well as many other amazing books about tarot and Jewish history across the globe.
Here are sketches of the first three cards of the major arcana. Iād love to hear what excites you, what you are curious about, what even confuses you!

As I continue to work on this project, paying subscribers will get deep dives into my thinking about the deck and each cards. Iāll share historic influences, mood boards, source material, and more.
If you want to read along with me, Iāve started a book list at Bookshop.org. Iāll be adding more of my favorite books about tarot, Jewish history, Jewish art, and other topics that work their way into my process.
